It looks like an island, surrounded by the river Ladon and its torrents. The enchanting forest of Barbus, an exceptional monument of nature, with its century-old chestnut, oak and vine trees, is an idyllic sight for the visitor and a source of oxygen for the inhabitants of the area.

Abundant, cool water flows uninterruptedly from the traditional, stone fountain under the over-aged plane tree, harmoniously combining the elements of nature.

The religious element is also strong with the parish church of Agios Dimitrios, the cemetery church of Agioi Theodoroi and the church of the Assumption of Theotokos. Finally, on the slopes of Mount Aphrodisios, the ruins of the ancient sanctuary of Aphrodite Erikynes are preserved, which was an important centre of worship and oracle in antiquity.
