Paos

A picturesque, mountainous settlement built west of the ancient city of Paos and its Acropolis. The ruins of the fortification remain to this day, scattered on the slope of the low hill to the west of the present settlement.

The Old Byzantine Monastery of Agios Protoklitos Andreas stands out, which was rebuilt in 1862.

The parish church of Agioi Theodoroi and the cemetery of Agia Triada are important religious elements of the village. Finally, in 1882 the new church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built on the spot where the icon of the Virgin Mary of Vrefokratousa had been found.
