Skepasto is the largest village of the Municipality of Kalavrita, just a few kilometers from Kalavrita, opposite the Historical Monastery of Agia Lavra. It is one of the oldest villages of the region. Its history dates back to the 15th century. It participated actively in all the nation's struggles, especially during the revolution of 1821. Before the war it showed great economic growth.
The village was bombed on 29 November 1943, because it was the centre of resistance organisations, 13 inhabitants were murdered and several were wounded.
Skepasto is one of the few villages in the municipality that retains a significant potential of young people who remained in their place with the main occupation being farming.
In recent years, the occupations of the inhabitants have expanded with new activities around the growing and expanding tourist development of the wider area. Dynamic and particularly noteworthy is the activity of the Cultural Association of the Youth of Skepasto, which every year carries out activities of an educational - cultural and social nature, and the Skepasto Sports Club.
