Skotani

A picturesque village, built near the dark, dense, legendary forest of Soronas, where according to Pausanias, bears, wild boars and huge turtles lived, from the shells of which a lyre could be made.

It is worth visiting the Church of St. Demetrios, built in 1828, with its masterpiece, carved from walnut wood, and the cemetery church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour. From the chapel of Agios Georgios one can gaze at the magnificent view. The old elementary school has taken the form of a Folklore Museum, with exhibits that leave a strong sense of the local element in the visitor.
